MotionProtect

Door and window sensors protect your entry points. Motion sensors protect the space inside. The Ajax MotionProtect mounts in the upper corner of a room and monitors movement across up to 40 feet of interior space. When your system is armed and someone moves through the room, it triggers the alarm. When it's disarmed, activity is simply logged in the app. Together with your entry sensors, MotionProtect gives your hub a complete picture of what's happening inside your home.

The MotionProtect uses a PIR (passive infrared) sensor with built-in intelligence to distinguish between people and pets, so your dog moving through the living room won't set anything off. It runs for up to 5 years on a pre-installed battery and connects to your Ajax hub wirelessly — no wiring, no ceiling mounts. Most homes need just 1–2 motion detectors, placed in areas where individual door and window sensors aren't practical — a garage, a large open living area, or a main hallway. It's not about covering every inch; it's about the right sensor in the right place.
