The FireProtect 2 brings fire detection into the same system you use for security — all managed from the same Ajax app. Mount it to the ceiling and it connects to your hub alongside your other devices. When smoke or heat is detected, all connected FireProtect detectors in your home trigger together within 20 seconds, so the 85 dB alarm sounds throughout the house regardless of which room activated first. If you have professional monitoring, the alert goes to your monitoring center at the same time.
The smoke chamber uses a dual-spectrum optical sensor in a sealed, dustproof design that won't false-alarm from steam, dust, or insects — and doesn't need regular cleaning. Two built-in thermistors monitor for heat spikes alongside the smoke detection. Pre-installed batteries last up to 5 years and are replaceable, so you replace the batteries, not the unit. UL 268 certified. Available in white and black. We recommend one in each bedroom, the main hallway, and living areas — follow your local fire code for specific placement requirements.
